After meeting up with a group of scavengers and helping them survive, Jacob is attacked by a new type of terminator, one that can pass for human. His unit is wiped out by Skynet and he is marked for termination. Players take on the role of a resistance solider named Jacob Rivers. One that can be called the best Terminator game for many decades but considering how low that bar is, that’s not as much praise as you might think. Set during the war with Skynet that is portrayed in the first two films, Terminator: Resistance is a solid first-person shooter. That was until 2019 when developer Teyon and publisher Reef Entertainment released Terminator: Resistance.

Since then, it’s been mobile games all the way. An adaption of the poorly received movie of the same name. The last time anyone tried to find success with a game based on the franchise was back in 2009 with the poorly received Terminator Salvation. If you want to enjoy either, you have to go way back to the early 90s. Good Terminator games are about as likely as good Terminator films these days.
